The
Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) of the Indian Institute of Management
Kozhikode, its first Doctoral Programme, commenced from the academic year
2007-08. The FPM programme of IIMK strives to incorporate the strengths of
similar programmes in other IIMs while it also tries to introduce new strengths
and certain innovative features into the programme. The purpose of such efforts
is to overcome any weaknesses in the Fellow Programmes elsewhere and to bring
out the best in the Fellows coming out of the programme.
IIMK
recognizes the fact that no top class academic institution of higher learning
will be able to preserve its quality without emphasis on top quality research. The
IIMs see the Fellow Programmes as a crucial source of management researchers
and faculty resources of top quality both to the academic institutions
including IIMs and to the industry, business, government and society.
Objectives
- It aims at developing top
quality researchers and faculty resources for academic institutions
including IIMs
- It envisages itself as a
leading source of top quality management experts and thinkers for business
organizations, government and society in India and abroad.

A
Fellow participant is normally expected to complete the programme in 4 years.
However, she/he can submit the draft thesis any time after the completion of 3
