Financially yours (FY) is where money is made to matter. The finance interest group at IIMK, FY is one of the most popular and subscribed to interest groups on campus. It meets every week to discuss the recent happenings in the world of business and finance. FY invites presentations from students on current and relevant topics and provides a forum to discuss theoretical concepts as well as industry practices. In the past we have had discussions on topics ranging from trade finance to derivatives to commodities exchange to yield curves et al. We nurture future Investment Bankers, fund managers and CFOs. In short, we are into money.
FY also functions as the interface between the student community and the financial world. It enables synergistic interactions among a strong student-member community, coupled with valuable input from the faculty, the academia and representatives from the industry. Some activities that FY is involved in are conducting Industry sponsored workshops relating to contemporary issues, organizing Case competitions amongst members of the student community, having brainstorming sessions on and solutions to these case studies, conducting simulation games that are a proxy for investor behavior in the real world. We are also involved in updating the FY Board - a bulletin board and discussion forum whereby a community of members that exchange finance related ideas and issues has developed and are growing rapidly.
In addition to all of the above, we organize quizzes that supplement the existing rigorous curriculum at IIMK. FY has also contributed to the conceptual design of in-house development of games that simulate conditions similar to financial markets in an attempt to enhance the financial acumen of its participants.
