Googling became a part of the lexicon in early 2000 thanks to the innovative idea by Google that radically changed the concept of search engines. Anything under the sun could be searched for, within seconds and it gave Google a dominant position in the internet market. Yahoo! the leader of the web services like e-mail and chat was very late in realizing a market and by the time they launched the Yahoo! search in 2004, Google was light years ahead. Google by then had exploited the internet market and it is also said that most people kick start their day by Google and Yahoo! just couldn’t be beat that.
In an interesting move, software giant Microsoft offered Yahoo! $44.6 billion for a complete buy out hoping to compete jointly against Google which has 63% of the total Internet search market share as compared to 33% of Microsoft-Yahoo! These statistics show the standings of each company currently.

Microsoft’s decision to bid for Yahoo! wasn’t just out of the blue, with the Yahoo! profit sliding and their share prices creeping to a four year low, a lucrative offer of $31 per share representing a 62 percent premium over the current stocks would put Yahoo! in a dilemma and force it to think twice before it could decline the offer. The impending boom in the internet market, which is expected to reach as high as $80 billion within next three years due to an outrageous investment from the advertisers as an increase of entertainment and news on the web (as compared to television) will definitely force Yahoo! to consider the deal in all seriousness.
Now, what if Yahoo! accepts the deal? Even with Yahoo on Microsoft’s shoulders, the company would still barely make it to Google’s midriff. How would Microsoft leverage Yahoo! potential? Will Google ever be challenged with msn-Yahoo!?
